Some islanders fish for a living, some islanders fish for fun, some islanders sell fish in their restaurants and some islanders prepare bountiful fish-rich meals for their families. One thing is for sure, the various Hatteras Island fisheries have an impact on those who are blessed to call this place their home and we love sharing them with our friends and neighbors. Offshore boats had mixed catches on Monday and Tuesday: Dolphin, Wahoo, Barracuda, Tilefish, Triggerfish, Vermilion Snapper, and Grouper.

Inshore boats had nice catches of Red Drum, some Speckled Trout and Spanish Mackerel, and scattered Sheepshead and Bluefish.

Fishing was a littler slower on Sunday than the last few days but offshore boats still had several Wahoo and Dolphin to bring back to the dock, along with Barracuda and Vermilion Snapper.

Wahoo was the word of the day on Wednesday! Offshore boats brought in several nice ones, some citation sizes, along with Barracuda, King Mackerel, Amberjack and Tilefish. We also had a Sailfish release!

Most offshore boats were held to the dock on Sunday due to rough seas. Monday brought better weather and good bottom fishing. We saw good catches of Tilefish and Triggerfish, along with a few good catches of Dolphin and a Wahoo.

We saw some nice offshore catches on Friday and Saturday with boats bringing in Dolphin, some Grouper, Tilefish, and Triggerfish, plus a few Wahoo, King Mackerel and False Albacore. We also had a White Marlin release!

We saw great Dolphin fishing on Sunday and Monday despite boats dealing with rough conditions. A few boats came in early both days but several still got their limits of Dolphin. They also had decent catches of bottom fish and brought in some Red Snappers on the last day of the season.
