Summer on the Stormy Petrel II

Nearshore fishing on the half day charters is picking up lately. There have been plenty of Spanish Mackerel but recently the majority have been small fish- not keepers. Bluefish, on the other hand, have mostly been just the right size, and when they are around the inlet, some nice catches can be made. There have also been some nice blues out at Cape Point. Offshore, there is good bottom fishing for triggers and snappers, and trolling for Wahoo has been good some days. Dolphin have been hit or miss, but when they are around, it has been school dolphin in good numbers. Our boat, the Stormy Petrel II is the only boat in Hatteras that regularly runs charters for more than six people. She is a small inspected passenger vessel per USCG regs. We take up to 15 people on offshore charters and up to 20 on nearshore charters. We do NOT run head boat trips or make-ups. You charter the boat exclusively for your group. The walk around layout is ideal for bottom fishing, but we are also equipped for trolling.
