Power Outage Fishing Report
Despite the evacuation of tourists this week, we were able to get out fishing a couple of times this week. Offshore fishing was pretty scrappy early in the week for a couple of days with a queer current running and greener than usual water, but conditions have since improved. Close to shore there are Bluefish and Spanish Mackerel. It was a bit slower than last week, but there are still fish to be caught and it should be picking up in the days to come. Our half day nearshore trips are great for large family groups because we can carry more than six passengers on our boat. The Stormy Petrel II is NOT a “head boat” in the strict sense. Instead of open trips, we run PRIVATE CHARTERS. No need to split up or leave someone behind. Our boat is licensed by the USCG for over 40 people in the ocean, but our charter rates are affordable even if you have only 7 or 8 people. See www.thestormypetrel.com/ for more info or call 252-473-9163 to book a trip with us.
